Why am I hop(ing)
“Sometimes all it takes is one hop to change your perspective.”
Growing Up on the Move
My story has always been about movement. As a kid, I was constantly on the go — my parents relocated us from state to state, always searching for the best place to grow up.
By the time I turned 17 and graduated high school, I joined the Air Force and was stationed in Germany.
The Missed Opportunity
That’s where my first real exposure to beer culture began. But back then, my priorities were different. Traveling wasn’t on my radar, and I didn’t take full advantage of having so many European countries just a short trip away.
Fast Forward 10 Years
Life had other plans. My career led me into a role that required a lot of travel. Somewhere along the way, something clicked — I started falling in love with the experience of exploring new cultures, meeting new people, and walking through cities I’d never seen before. I was hooked.
Another Decade Later
Travel became more than just business or vacation — it became a passion. Around the same time, I developed a deeper appreciation for wine and beer. Suddenly, my travels weren’t just trips — they were a hobby, a way of connecting with the world.
Why This Blog Exists
This blog is my way of sharing that journey with you. I hope it inspires you to set your priorities, pack a bag, and see the world for yourself.
It’s easier than we think — sometimes, we just need that first hop. 🍺✈️
